Buenavista Infrastructure, the infrastructure, energy, and environmental investment arm of Buenavista Equity Partners, has acquired a 25% stake in Autovía de los Viñedos, S.A. (Auvisa) from BESTINVER Infra FCR, through its Buenavista Infraestructuras Iberia fund. The remaining 75% is held by Infra Invest Iberia, S.A.U., a vehicle managed by Meridiam, one of Europe’s leading infrastructure fund managers

The Autovía de los Viñedos (CM-42) is a 74.5 km shadow toll road connecting the towns of Consuegra (Toledo) and Tomelloso (Ciudad Real). This corridor serves as a key backbone for Castilla-La Mancha, providing vital links for municipalities such as Madridejos, Camuñas, Villafranca de los Caballeros, Herencia, and Alcázar de San Juan, and connecting the city of Toledo with the A-43 motorway. The road serves an area with a combined population of over 100,000 people. In 2024, it carried 3 million vehicles, 18% of which were heavy goods vehicles, emphasizing the road’s strategic importance for regional connectivity and the local productive sector.

The concession was originally awarded in 2003 to a consortium led by Acciona, which established Auvisa to manage the project. This company holds the rights for the financing, operation, and maintenance of the motorway until the end of the concession period in January 2033.

Victoriano López-Pinto, Managing Partner at Buenavista Infrastructure, commented: “With this transaction, we are adding a second motorway to the Buenavista Infraestructuras Iberia portfolio, following the acquisition of a stake in the Autovía del Eresma in 2023. This step further strengthens our strategy of investing in established core infrastructure assets with stable, predictable revenues and reduced operational risk, while also generating a positive social impact by enhancing regional connectivity across Spain.”
