Buenavista Equity Partners (“Buenavista”), a Private Equity manager specializing in the lower/mid-market segment in Spain, has announced today the appointment of Fernando Bayón as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the firm.
From his new position, Bayón will lead the group’s technology area to drive the digitalization of internal processes, the application of artificial intelligence to operations, and the development of advanced technological tools to support the growth of the firm’s investment strategies. In this way, he will strengthen the company’s commitment to leading digital transformation and technological innovation in the sector.
Bayón joins Buenavista from Dezzai, a company focused on generative artificial intelligence, where he also held the position of Chief Technology Officer. With over 20 years of experience specializing in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, he has held positions of increasing responsibility at leading technology companies such as Vetgo.ai, Repsol, Sanitas, Indra, and Santander. He specializes in designing data-driven solutions for industries including fintech, energy, insurance, and banking. Bayón holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the Autonomous University of Madrid and an MBA from EOI, including an international residency at UCF.
Last July, Buenavista announced a 25% capital increase, welcoming Libertas7, Aligrupo, and Livrefluxo as strategic partners. Through this transaction, the firm committed to strengthening its corporate structure to support its planned growth strategy, with the aim of reinforcing key areas such as investor relations, IT systems, ESG, legal advisory, and the investment teams themselves. Bayón’s appointment is aligned with these ambitions.
Following his appointment, Fernando Bayón, the new Chief Technology Officer of Buenavista Equity Partners, stated: “I am joining Buenavista as CTO at a time of ambitious change for the firm. I take on this responsibility with enthusiasm and commitment. It is a privilege to contribute my experience and knowledge to the team and to help strengthen the organization’s technological structure during this process.”
Enrique Centelles Satrústegui, Managing Partner of Private Equity at Buenavista Equity Partners, commented: “We are very pleased to have Fernando join us as CTO, a fundamental step in strengthening our corporate structure and technological resilience. His experience and vision will be key to supporting our growth and facing the challenges of this highly demanding global environment with confidence.”
