- Buenavista will lead the financing for the deployment of 590 charging points across 13 autonomous regions
- Eranovum is one of Spain’s leading operators of electric vehicle charging points
- This is one of the first transactions undertaken by Buenavista NextGen Urbano, a fund that channels resources financed by NextGeneration EU.
Madrid, xx March 2026 – Buenavista Equity Partners, a private equity group specialising in Spain’s low and mid-market segment, has signed a project finance agreement, through its subsidiary Buenavista Infrastructure, with Eranovum, one of the country’s leading operators of electric vehicle charging points, amounting to €8.8 million. The transaction has been executed via the Buenavista NextGen Urbano SICC fund, a vehicle established specifically to promote urban development projects, including affordable housing and sustainable tourism, across Spain.
This financing will enable the installation, grid connection, supply, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of 590 charging points, distributed across 113 sites in 13 regions throughout Spain. The rollout will take place sequentially between 2026 and 2027, with all charging points expected to be fully operational by 2028.
According to Victoriano López Pinto, Managing Partner at Buenavista Infrastructure: “We are finalising the first financing operation from our Buenavista NextGen Urbano fund in the field of sustainable urban mobility, with a project that promotes both accessibility and territorial reach by deploying a charging network across 113 sites in urban areas throughout several Spanish regions. We are proud to support this initiative, which will help electrify transport in our cities and reduce emissions.”
David Vallespín, co-CEO of Eranovum, commented that this agreement “marks a decisive step in consolidating Eranovum’s position as a leading operator in electric mobility in Spain. It allows us to accelerate our rollout in strategic urban areas, strengthen our presence across 13 regions, and advance our growth plan to significantly expand our operational network in the coming years. Having the support of a partner such as Buenavista provides strong validation of our business model and our ability to develop sustainable, long-term infrastructure.”
Buenavista NextGen Urbano
This financing represents the first transaction carried out by the Buenavista NextGen Urbano SICC fund. The vehicle was established by Buenavista Infrastructure after being appointed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) as financial intermediary to manage €200 million from the Fund of Funds created by the EIB. These resources come from the Regional Resilience Fund (FRA), which forms part of Spain’s Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and is financed by NextGeneration EU. The aim is to drive projects focused on affordable housing, urban regeneration and sustainable tourism.
Selected projects must demonstrate economic and financial viability, and be promoted either by companies classified as SMEs, Small Mid-Caps or Mid-Caps, or as infrastructure projects. The fund is expected to complete between 10 and 20 transactions over its lifetime, with a maximum investment of €22 million per project, limited to 70% of the total project cost.
